925 Silver Care Guide
How to keep your sterling silver shining for a lifetime.
The "Last On, First Off" Rule
Silver is sensitive to chemicals. Always put your jewellery on last (after perfume, lotions, and makeup) and take it off first before your nighttime routine.
Restoring the Sparkle
For Light Cleaning:
Use the microfiber polishing cloth provided with your order. Gently rub in long, back-and-forth motions. Do not rub in circles as it can magnify scratches. For Heavy Oxidation:
If your silver turns dark, wash it in lukewarm water with a drop of mild, phosphate-free dish soap. Dry it immediately with a soft towel to prevent water spots.Smart Storage
-
Air-Tight is Best: Store pieces in the zip-lock pouches we provide. Oxygen is what causes silver to turn black.
-
Keep it Dry: Store in a cool, dry place. A silica gel packet inside your jewellery box is a great way to absorb moisture.
-
No Contact: Don't store silver with other metals or even other silver pieces to prevent tangling and scratches.
Did you know? Wearing your silver jewellery frequently can actually help prevent tarnish. The natural oils in your skin "clean" the silver and keep it shiny!
